I am putting out an APB on RocketMan....If you are out there man, send up a flare and I'll have the coast guard pick you up!! There have been no sightings of you in quite some time.:D
I'm still around...there is a flight test next week and I've been busy...but I have stopped by every once in a while for a look see. After next week I should be more able to keep my head above water and pop in for a comment or two.

I saw him at the dive shop Saturday toting in a LP108......

They did install an Automatic Heart Defibulator on the wall outside his office door at work.... I wonder if that was a "sign". ? :rofl3:

EDIT: Ah... he just posted before I did...

Harry, I say lets go out for the the flight test and take our scuba gear! There has to be a dive boat somewhere on that island!

I saw something neat on one of the diver's tanks that I was diving with Saturday. He had a gps tracking device that could be used to track you if you got separated from your boat. It sends a signal to the coast guard just like the ones that boats have on them. He said after a few close encounters in other countries where the dive boats are not regulated like they are here, him and his dive buddies considered it standard equipment. He said it ran around $450. It may be worth it for peace of mind especially after watching a stupid movie like "Open Water"

or...... you dive in conditions suited to your skill level, stay within your range, and dive with reputable dive ops.

or better yet, stick to Morrison, don't need GPS there :D

It was prob an ERIB.

I don't know if it really sends a GPS readout back to the coast guard though, but the coast guard can use it to triangle-ate (sp?) on your position if it's activated.

I wouldn't go spending money on it. If you come up from a wreck that you can't make it back to the boat, it's really easy to find you. You will end up down current from the boat. Simply put, while the boat is at anchor, the current will straighten it out and you'll be aft of it in the current. so the boat only has one direction it to go to look for you.

It's that time of the year again. the dreaded 6 letter word. FINALS i'll be on and off here for some time.
Been doing my traveling and pool testing new gear. I've found a new hobby to do during SI's and it keeps me sane when i can't get wet. I've gotten into geocaching ( www.geocaching.com for info). It has helped me look for hidden objects everywhere. I can't wait to search the cracks of local lakes looking for lost treasures.
Can't wait until the week after finals. I am hitting the water hard.

My dreaded 5 letter word this time of year is taxes. Where are you going diving the week after finals?
I am hoping to get in some boat dives in the gulf the weekend after April 17th. Donna started a thread about an Earth Day Dive which would be April 22nd.....okay Donna, snap to it...round us up some boats.:)
