Alona Beach, 6:30 am July 30th. This is the third day of "Habagat" conditions with gusty winds and heavy on and off rain. Needless to say, not ideal dive conditions.

Sometimes it's just no fun to go in the water. A couple of years ago, we towed our boat 700+ miles to San Diego to dive over Winter break. The waves were breaking over the pedestrian walkway that runs above what they call the "kiddie pool" in La Jolla. The surf was something like 28 feet. We never set foot in the water and towed the boat home early because we were just hanging out in a crappy motel room and doing tourist stuff day after day.
