The Texas Clipper (the former Texas A&M training ship) will leave the Maritime Administration Reserve Ship Fleet friday morning for Brownsville. The 473ft ship will be sunk about 17 miles off the south Texas coast and become an artificial reef later next year. This is the next ship headed for "Davy Jones Locker" since the USS Oriskany left Beaumont in March.

Excellent! So that's going to be in like 5ft. of water right? I remember going out to padre island as a kid and playing in the gulf. I remember walking a long ways out into the gulf before I got into water that was over my head. I definitely need to make some gulf trips sometime though. :)
