Hi, Welcome from another Southern Californian. All the dives are relaxing, beach or boat...Redondo Beach is OK, but you should wander off a little to get better visibility. Lots of places close enough to you (even a relaxing drive down the coast gets you to Laguna Beach, where the viz is a bit better).
Lots of folks diving from the Spectre out of Ventura Harbor in the next couple of weeks. I don't know if there are any spots left for next weekend, but after that...
