Did you look hard enough. Usually in the winter you can see the larval stages of marine life and an occasional hydra if you look hard enough.
You may have to settle with the tiny just barley macro marine life.
 
OK - to be fair there was small life.....

It's a fun video. What type of camera were you using?

If you had a plankton net I'd bet you'd catch a load of sumthin' - 8:05 into your video. Looks like there are also some orange tunicates? Diving (even where there's not a lot to see) is a whole lot better than eating a pile of french fries.
