yesterday we went to the endocrinologist and pulmonologist. he's doing great. he's *on* the growth charts, so he's catching up his growth. that means he's actually growing more & faster, working to catch up to his genetic potential. which, since he's off his o2, is wonderful - many babies, if o2 is stopped too soon, will slow their growth. so it's great validation that he's on the right track. for any math geeks, he was 6 standard deviations below the norm last year, and now he's 10th percentile. just wow.
he's officially off his oxygen now. we weren't using it, but the dr wanted us to keep it in case he needed it and she had him still on his diuretic and electrolyte supplements. well, he's off three of his meds now! one he'll be on till at least spring, one or maybe both of the others for at least another year.
he crawls *all* over, normal hands & knees. he pulls up everywhere & cruises. he pushes walking toys, opens drawers & cabinets, climbs up and down steps. he can say 'water', though it comes out as 'oo-ah-dah'. he knows a sheep says 'baaaa' and a puppy dog says 'uf-uf-uf'. he can sign 'milk' and 'all done' and 'more' and 'book' and 'dog'. he can play peekaboo, pattycake, and itsy bitsy spider. he eats everything - chinese, mexican, mongolian, soul food, pizza... he fights sleep but usually goes down for the night by 8:30 or so.
he's wonderful. he's catching up, getting more healthy, and going to megadive next week!
love to all y'all still following him...
