Marci - that is so good to hear. I will take a pic for Jameson tonight while I am diving. :) Hang tight - you are in my thoughts.

well, about me...i had a bit of a breakdown sunday & yesterday, felt like he wasn't gonna make it even though he didn't look much different. i feel better today.

they haven't operated yet. they're giving the swelling as much chance as possible to go down since everything else is pretty stable, and i think it has started to. his electrolytes seem more stable, his heartrate is more normal, and his lungs are doing great though of course still need maturing. he doesn't seem to be hurting, and is still plenty alert & waving & kicking. he weighs 5lb 13oz, some of which is fluid, of course. he'll have outgrown his preemie clothes by the next time he can wear clothes!

thanks for all the good thoughts & prayers. we are going through them at a rapid rate, so keep 'em coming!

More love sent.....Prayers to follow..You are allowed any and all breakdowns required to keep your sanity..I know I would've lost mine by now...Bless your little duckliing...

hey marci ... get some rest, sleep .... eat ... *try* to read a book, get your mind off things every once in a while

i have a sense that the worst is already over ... i will be thinking of you and young Mr. Edwards

Hang in there Marci...you have the strength I know it!

Big Hugs Marci! It is an emotional roller coaster ride for sure, get it out of your system and then you be strong can face it again. He's growing and gaining that's fantastic..Lots and lots of what ever you need!

Aloha

Marci,

What you are going through is normal, if such a word can be applied to the rocky road that parents of severely premature infants experience.

The good news is that many of his problem thus far might be attributable to the bowel perforation, and he may rally significantly once he is well enough to have his abdomen closed.

The bad news is that you are exhausted, both physically and mentally, and the road is not over. One of the most important things you can do for your baby during this time is preserve your SELF. Rest, food, and some activities that aren't focused on his well-being are critically important, both to keep YOU well, and to maintain you as a resource for him, when he gets to the point where you can really offer him a great deal.

Have you taken a day away from the hospital since he was born? Are you sleeping well? Have you had dinner with friends? Seriously, you need to do these things. Take care of yourself, both because you are important to you, and because you are the most important resource for Jameson.

I am glad he made it thru that OK !!!
My prayers for both of you , of course !

And to put a smile on your face my dear , I am keeping that PINK tunnel safe for you :D

That's my job , and I'm a stickin to it. ;)

MANY HUGS!!!
