I have finished the written part of the PADI course and started the diving part.
I have a couple of recommendations for ya.
#1 READ THE BOOK READ READ READ it,the written part is the worst and everything is much easier in the water than it sounds.
#2 It feels so weird to breath underwater but it is so much fun
I guarrantee it:) :) :)
I would go on but it's almost 11o'clock here on the atlantic(seriosly I am a couple of feet from the atlantic and it's diveable 365 days a year!! I will be doing a 60ft dive a couple of miles out with the barracudas soon!)A good hurricane and I am underwater. So mother nature no more hurricanes in the northeast part of florida. see you later and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, I have finished all the written stuff, watched the video, all the important stuff I think. I'm a little nervous for tomorrow, but I'm really excited too!! Thanks for the advice!:)

Woops didn't know you had done the written part already, sorry bout that.
Neway make sure you have good fitting stuff b/c the last thing you want is a bad dive b/c of gear,I did my first and only pool dive I had a bad fitting bc and was miserable but since then it's been the best time of my life.
You won't belive how easy it is I mean when you breath out of a freeflowing reg it's like breathing at the surface too bad it wastes sooooooooooo much air.During the free swim (meaning swim where ever you want) my insructor told us that he might give us a problem(like pulling the reg out of your mouth or something like that) and I was having so much fun I forgot about that and I was swimming along when my reg started pulling but I had forgotten about the thing he told us I wouldn't let go I thought the hose had gotten caught on somebodys hand or vavle or somethin'.It was him and finnaly I remeberd and let go.Geez that was stupid of me and funny b/c he didn't do that to the older ppl b/c he thought if I had been THAT stubborn to let go he might pull out some dentures or somethin' heheheheehe the older ppl didn't like that joke.

haha, now that would be a big problem...... lose your teeth underwater. thanks for the advice, and great story!:)

Alright! Have fun and remember to just relax. It's a great experience. It may seem confusing or overwhelming at first but it gets easier class after class until most of it is second nature. This board is full of very knowledgeable people that are a great resource. I must warn you however that it is the beginning of a lifelone obsession that will take over all future vacations. I don't even consider a vacation that is not near a large body of water with a dive shop nearby. It drives my poor wife nuts!

Relaxing wasn't a problem at all. Staying underwater was a problem, we had to add quite a bit more weight to keep me underwater.... but my whole family has that problem. I had a good time practicing all the skills, didn't seem to have a problem with it at all. Will be nice to get my own gear eventullay, but will have to wait for that. For now I'm just happy to be underwater. As far as addiciton goes, I'm afraid that I might have already accomplished that..... I would love to be done with my certification tonight, and move on to bigger and better things tomorrow. I think that all of our vacations now might have to be planned around water too, but at least my dad is a diver, so it might not bug him as much as it will bug my mother when we go on trips. (My parents are divorced, so of course trips are seperate) Well I'm letting the world know what a good time I had, so I thought I would let you guys know first. I have a question, and I am hoping some of you can answer this: What do you guys clean your gear off with? For tonight, I'm just using regular water, but I was thinking that there might be something better to use that will maybe clean it out better. Thanks so much for all the help and support you guys have given me!! I really appreciate it!! :)
