I'm a Fish!
well, i just finished signing up for SCUBA classes, which will start on the 6th, with my first open water on the 11th, to practice the skills we learned in the pool the previous week. Cert. weekend is the 18th and 19th, with two diver per day. (not sure where yet) I'm so excited for them to start, seems like its taking forever to get here!!

Kayla:)

Congrats and Good Luck! Once you have been bitten, you can't turn back.

Since you just started could you give me any helpful hint as to what I will come across. My class hasn't started yet so any tip would be great. Good luck with your dives:shark:

i will be glad to give helpful hints, if i come across anything. do you know when your classes are going to start? ill keep you posted:)

Kayla :)

People learn at different paces. So take your time with everything. It's not a race or a timed event.

All the skills will become easier to you as time goes on. Even that dang fooling bouyancy -- trust me (even though I still think on occasion the ocean is trying to tell me to get out of the water hehehe)

Ask questions if you're unclear about anything. What may seam silly to you, if it's important enough for you to wonder about, ask. You may be surprised that others have the same question.

Above all, have fun, enjoy your experiences.

and oh yeah.... let your family here know how you do.

thanks for the advice. i will ask lots of questions.... the best way to get answers i find. and of course ill keep you guys posted :)

Kayla :)

Have fun! I think everyone remembers their OW certification. I certianly have hilarious memories of mine. And the accomplishment of completeing it is awesome... Then (like the others said) you're hooked.

Welcome to the underwater world. I remember my first check out dive......I ran out of air at 90 feet. I was desperate for air, I thought I was gonna die. Luckily my instructor saw my desperation and was there for the rescue. That was 11 years ago and that bad experience did not stop me from diving. Don't let bad experiences stop you from diving, instead make it as a good learning tool. Good Luck with your diving and hope to see you underwater.
