By the way, just so everyone is clear, I truly think the US has the absolute BEST system of government.

I agree but they're currently working very hard to change that.

It's all just fantasy money anyway.

People are talking like the US Dollar is based on limited commodity.

Ummm... the dollar is based on a limited commodity.

By the way, just so everyone is clear, I truly think the US has the absolute BEST system of government. The system is only good as the people in it, though. I just think too many people in power have their own collective goal rather than working for their constituents.

The U.S. once had the best system of government. That ended somewhere between the Bill of Rights and the 11th Amendment. What ever happened to the states having the power and there was little central government involvement? We have migrated back to the very thing once abhorred... and I'll say it again... we've already headed down this road and the sad part, it looks like it we are destined to travel it again.

Prepare yourself.

Ummm... the dollar is based on a limited commodity.

Not since we went off the Gold Standard.

Right now it's backed up by nothing more than faith in the country's economy and government.

The system is still in place. It's just a matter of getting back to it. If it can be changed with amendments, it can be change back, as well. The best system remains in this country. Unfortunately, the diversity of those in it has been soooo diluted that I truly think our concerns won't be met. They'll pacify us here and there but it will just draw attention away from the things they do for themselves at the same time.

Already have. The Illuminati is a bit more international. CFR could be a sub-group of them, though. Just to be fair, while soooo many of these powerful people are members, there's no indication if they were before they achieved that level of success. If it was after, could be nothing more than a fraternity. Time will tell.

While there are plenty of "conspiracies" in the form of the many social and political movements, we certainly don't need any crazy conspiracy theories or fictional secret societies to explain them. There are more than enough real and non-secret organizations pushing various agendas that there's little reason to go looking for the boogie-man.

Basic civics:

Direct Democracy - one person one vote everyone votes on every issue.

Representative Democracy - elected officials make the day to day decisions on your behalf.

As the US is a Representative Democracy

Almost, but wrong. The United States is a republic. Check the Constitution, the Federalist papers, even the pledge of allegiance. Even Aristotle knew that a democracy was just a debased republic.

a republic generally is synonymous with representative democracy

James Madison, for example, defined a republic as a representative democracy as opposed to direct democracy

Hey, why don't we cut out all foreign aid for a couple of years to help ourselves?

WE have to fend for ourselves, why can't other countries?

The problem with GM is that they, and the other auto manufacturers, continued to try to conduct business in a global economy with 1940's, 50's and 60's management and marketing attitudes and models.

Of course the labor unions didn't help, either . . . building cars at $10/hr. and selling them to a population that makes $5/hr. Bad economics when compared to foreign vehicles made at a substantially lower wage rate.
