It looks like my DC2000 died on the weekend.

Not even in the water.

Turn it on, it does a little buzz, and the power indicator light comes on.... and then that's it. No chime, no display screen. It doesn't respond to any input, and the only way to make the power indicator light go off is to remove the battery.

Memory card is fine ( I can read it in a card reader) and the camera fails in the same way even if I put a new memory card in.

Arrgh.

Sealife, I believe this is still under warranty. What's the process for you to take a look at it and figure out what the problem is?

This is the Owners forum. They have their own under Manufacturers forum, altho sometimes they read & post here.

I would give them a call. Their customer service is outstanding. You will be able to talk with a human.
Yep, just phone them.

Yeah, I'll do that. I was on the phone all day, and although I could take time during a break to post here, there was no time to make a call.

I know this is the Owners (vs the Manufacturers forum), but I've noticed that they seem to login or respond to notes and questions a bit faster here than then the official Manufacturers forum. There's probably more traffic here, so it's more worth their time to check here...

I figured that it was worth a quick note anyway. I had a question a couple of years and they answered it very quickly. I'm sure they'll do the same once I get in the phone tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the replies!

Finally got to make that call today… Spoke to Dennis. Had a great conversation with him.

I've got an RMA number and the cameras on the way back for service.

And as a follow up, I've received a FedEx note that my camera will be back on Friday. I don't know if it will be repaired or a swap, but, whichever, that's excellent service!

My experience on a flash that died while under warranty. Sent it in. That model was no longer made so they sent me the new more expensive replacement plus a couple of parts for it since I needed a new arm for the different flash.. As you said, excellent service.

My experience as well, best customer service in the industry.

Glad it worked out for you.

Following up... they sent a new camera.

That's incredible service. My thanks to Dennis (et al) at SeaLife!
