Looks like TSandM has given you good counsel in both areas. 
While she may not be the diving eye doc I previously suggested, I think I'd trust her word on anything here. If she doesn't know, she'll say that, but she generally does.
I dived with one of her friends north of Seatlle once, and Dan told me how (I think the story went) he'd buddy up with her hubby as they're more laid back divers like me, while she and Dan's wife with would buddy up for their more calculated approach.
