I got a second hand UK D8 and I bought some Energizer batteries for it and they won't work, put Duracells in works fine, even swapped out batteries from one D8 to the other both work fine on Duracells, has anyone had this issue or did I get a bad batch of energizers? I'm thinking bad batteries, you wouldn't think but that's my only guess?

There is an issue with that model light were it definitely prefers Duracell batteries over Energizers.
I use to have one until I ponied up for a can light.
Best i could determine is that Energizers are slightly shorter than Duracells.
FYI the can light with it's rechargeable battery pack paid for itself in cost of feeding the D-8 light.
Gave a bunch more light, and less weight in your hand to knock off trim.
