Island time? Why do we accept this excuse?

sland time doesn’t refer to service. Bad service is bad service and it can happen anywhere. Bonaire has many restaurants where it rarely happens. Seek them out.

I ate at Cappriccios on my recent trip to Bonaire, and the service was atrociously slow. I overheard someone refer to "island time" and I don't think that had anything to do with it. To me, island time means "slow, relaxed, friendly." The Italian waitress and the Italian manager at Cappriccios were both slow, uptight, and very unfriendly. (I speak fluent Italian, and lived in Italy for a long time, and this can't be attributed to "Italian time" either -- they were just rude.) Bad service is bad service, indeed.

Too bad, because the food was good.
