island hopping for a day dive

We are going to Kauai April 1st, we would like to dive some the other islands too but want to do it in a day ( not over night stay) are there ferries? Which island would be the best to visit for diving comming from Kauai?

You cannot fly and dive for the day...no ferries. If you still try and get around to some other islands, Try George's Aviation if you like small planes. Free parking, no security, no lines.

How long have they been talking about it? I've basically have 2 homes and both seem to be talking about some heavy additions to their modes of transportation. If you want to see the other one, it is at: http://www.standard.net/xx.php/news/75540/?printable=story

I think the Hawaii ferries is a better idea. Is it likely that Hawaii will get the ferries? The only industry I see it hurting is the local airlines. I think it'd be relaxing to take a ferry ride between the different islands.

Does anyone have any links that show that status of the debate amongst the powers that be that shows how this idea is coming along?

the Hawaii ferry was recently discussed here.

the only ferry there is runs between Maui and Molokai (people only/no cars) and Maui and Lanai (not sure if cars are allowed on that one). No other ferries as of yet. It would be a great idea and I would rather travel that way than hop in a plane. Besides, you would get a better view.

I thought the first two or three ferries were being built now and due in service next year?..SOmeone kick Big Ilse guys in the butt and get the harbor there ready too. Man I miss the big isle. Heck, at this point I miss all the isles.....
