I've been reading reviews and people threads for the last several weeks looking for a dive computer that's right for me. Don't worry this post isn't asking what computers are good for beginners. Ideally I'll be diving twice a year but only one trip will truly be a dive vacation. So while I don't mind spending $500 on a good computer that's trustworthy, I do mind not using it for long periods of time.
So I think the new Garmin Descent G1 sounds like it'd be a good fit. It can replace my aging Fitbit and still go with me on dives. At half the cost of the mk2. Something something 2 birds, 1 stone. While I'd love to buy the mk2 I'm sadly not that rich.
Therefore, my ask to this group is - does that seem like a crazy idea? Does anyone else do this?
