First, carefully arrange the tank so that the bottom faces the direction you want to transport it. Use a small amount of padding to keep it stable, and apply a sledge hammer to the valve as hard as you can.

or

start diving steel doubles, which makes carrying a single downright pleasurable.

or

get a cart.
The fastest and easiest solution… Not rocket science is it …? :rofl3:

I purchased beach buggy type tires for a deep, large wheel barrow. My buddy and I are not the coolest looking guys on the beach but, we carry a lot of gear easily- including tanks.

I've done it many ways over the years. Carts are great, but a tank carrier with a shoulder sling is somewhat useful too... we also like having them because it provides a tie point to secure them when loose...

ymmv...

Find an old golf club bag cart..the kind the club bag attaches to...and make some minor modifications. Boom! A custom tank cart for single tanks.

Attach it to your BCD and voila, hands free with the tank on your back!

Young men, maybe even me at one time, would weight up a backpack and walk/run laps. I prefer indoor tracks. Wearing an actual tank would probably loose cool gym points, but they have plenty of weight on the racks to pick from. Then carry a 15 pounder in your arms to simulate your camera.

Cart, man. The answer is - cart. Golf cart, garden cart, any kind of it - is better than hauling all gear on your back half mile away from your car.
