$US250 (up from $10) is batsh**t crazy, every time the Indonesian govt does something stupid, you think they may have hit the apex.

They continue to impress!!

can you check your numbers please?

When I dived Komodo in 2016 it was obvious even at US$10 the fee was not going to the National Park, conservation initiatives or facilities on Rinca.
Dilapidated buildings, threadbare uniforms on the Park Rangers... the place was a shambles.

looks like it is good for one year, so technically could be a savings if you are able to time two longer trips in during one year vs the old setup of charging per day

For most divers, Komodo is a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
I look forward to seeing how the new Management Plan will utilise this substantial funding increase...
Komodo is coming under increasing scrutiny for poor visitor behavior threatening the Park’s natural environment, including one report of a large fire recently set by a guest who desired to create a photographic effect.
Meanwhile, a controversial development program is now underway on Rinca Island that includes a viewing amphitheater and the reintroduction of a long-standing environmentally disdained program of scheduled feedings.

Would the fee affecting LoB or day boat?
US$260.00 on top of the package.

Exactly and precisely!
So pay up or go to somewhere else! Raja Ampat which is a lot cheaper.
No difference from paying stupid visa fee to visit some countries.
