I will just try to give some info "as is" since we are currently contacting LBJ ops as my daughter is planning going to Komodo in 2 days.
It seems the local govt retreated : the fee is supposed to be delayed effective now from 1st of December, as an official letter from the gov is expected today (so as we've been told). In this respect, the tourist ops have won : good job (striking the gov and the local bapaks' wallet is a strategy that always pays).
Ops don't know whether and when the strike will be ended. Protesters have been harshly treated by the police yesterday, we have seen photos of people hurt and bleeding. All cars that are carrying tourists have been thrown stones at by the protesters so no taxi nor any transfer is currently operated from the airport which is dead empty. Drivers refuse to take passengers even inland to Maumere, fearing threats from the protesters.
One op in LBJ messaged us that it's a bit of a mess today and they can't ensure the tourist safety 100%, the situation should be clearer in the next days on whether tourist operations will resume or not due to the government withdrawal.
