is the finish on my hog spg supposed to look like this?

I have the same phenomenon occurring on two of my black lights as well and they have a "German finish" on them

I can't say I "like" it, but it's not bothering me. I spent a lot of time polishing brass in the Marines so it feels a little FUBAR to me but I can let it go.

LOL, true. It's hard to come out of the Marine Corps and still have your innocence.

Now, after about 80 dives since I started this thread, I don't have so much of an oil slick going on anymore, but I do have a nice worn look with a bit of silver showing through the black in spots. Closing in on 100 dives with it, I'm tempted to think it looks cooler now than it did when it was new (though I'm not entirely sure I remember what that looked like, lol).
