Is it worth bringing my own snorkeling gear to Bahamas on RC Cruise ship?

Good info, thanks guys!

I'm going to get those AL Superlows, they seem to be a solid bootie and my fins are already AL, so I might as well keep it all designer right? lol

Thanks for that excursion info, I will look into that for sure.

I think I'm just going to pack my fins so I can freely dive everywhere, beach or excursion without ever having to waste money or time on renting fins at each location.

I have the DiveCaddy backpack that allows me to pack everything nice and tight.

Sadly it looks like DiveCaddy went out of business. They are great bags and I'm glad I picked up two of them years ago!

I would chip in and say bring your own gear. You never know how well they really clean and disinfect everything. ALSO I think bringing your snorkeling gear will better prepare you to pack and bring your scuba gear when that time comes. There's nothing like having your own stuff. We cruise exclusively with Royal Caribbean and I've had no issues. Oh when you do start scuba and traveling just remember to remove any knives you may have on your harness. Have fun.

Do the fins you have fit you now? If they fit already there wouldn’t be room for booties (brand has nothing to do with them going together.) You can get neoprene or lycra socks to help prevent blisters.

If you use rental fins good chance they will be full foot, and some kind of socks would be good for those. ( Booties don’t usually work well for full foot fins, they are more if a barefoot thing.

I usually try to dive on most cruise stops that have good diving, bringing all my dive gear, and snorkel those ports where I am not diving. My philosophy on toting gear is a simple two parter. First, it's mine, I bought it, I brought it. Second, it is better to have and not need, than need and not have.
