8mm = 5.04/16

But hey, if you substitute tools on your regs go for it...

Like I told you. It's 5/16"

You can't discern 4/100ths of an inch, and neither can ANYTHING you're gonna fit the tool into.

You're either just kidding, or you've never used a tool more than once in your life.

Oh yeah 19mm = 3/4 inch too!!!!

BUT.....18MM isn't equal to 11/16"

There are limits.......

Beside, technically speaking, using 5/16" is a tighter, more secure fit.......technically speaking.

Yes it'll fit, kids.

If you place a 5/16" tool into an 5.04/16" (8mm) screw, the fit will actually be looser (technically speaking of course). Now, with that said would I refuse to use a 5/16" allen wrench if I didnt have an 8mm? Of course not.

Actually it's 2 1/2 .....1000ths of an inch, our mistake.

If you were dumb?? enough to argue 2 1/2 1000ths of an inch, I suggest you never dive with your reg again. Your O-ring might be out of spec.

I tell you the truth without exaggeration, I have used 5/16 for 8 mm, and vis versa for over 10 years, 5 days a week, 5 times a day.

Please don't insult anyone with silly posts.

it's is totally irrelevant.

Why argue? They're the same.

Besides YOU substituted the 5/16 for 8mm anyways!!!!
Guess what?? YOU didn't die either!! It simply cannot round-out.

You university types.....I swear. Give him a calculator, and he'll ensure nothing gets done!

When you get to the real world of working.....you'll understand, maybe.

I agree, its not worth arguing about. You probably would never feel the difference between using metric vs. inch allen wrenches. Sounds like your a reg. mech. and know more than me about these issues.

Well you're right, I honestly wouldn't know the difference from one Allen wrench to the other, unless I read the size myself.

For the record (if it helps)

19mm = 3/4''

16mm = 5/8"

Adjustable = every size conceived.........

NO, I FORBID those dastardly instruments...except when there's nothing else.

Maybe I know more about wrenches, nut, bolts and sizes, but maybe not about Regs.......

Oh, and to answer your question, measuring from the first stage is good enough, since the pressure is the same (baring kinks/restrictions etc (not much of a chance of that)) from 1st to 2nd stage.

Like the guys said, just ensure you have a way to relieve the pressure BEFORE you pressure it up!

No, you can measure the IP at either stage, or anywhere in between, and it will be the same. Well, should be.....

(just be sure if you measure it at the 1st stage that you attach the gauge to a LP port)

bmuise once bubbled...
Oh yes. I have an Aqualung Titan. I assume the threads are metric because the spring screw on the bottom is 8mm hex nut.
I need to recheck my titan service manual though...if I do find an adaptor and measure from the 1st stage is this accurate or does psi change on its way down the LP hose??
