Ontario divers: Looking for a chance to get wet and stay fit this winter? Try underwater rugby! We play a game that is fast, but fun and recreational--not highly competitive. Most of the players are scuba divers, free divers, swimmers, and other aquatically keen folks.
How to play? Players use mask, fins and snorkel. The ball is about 8", and filled with salt water, so it sinks slowly. For pick-up games, we divide into teams, about six a side. The ball is placed in the centre on the bottom (our pool is 15 feet). On the whistle forwards race to the centre and grab the ball. The object is to dunk the ball into the opposing team's goal--a big plastic bucket at the end of the pool.

Where? Wayne Gretzky Sports Complex, 254 North Park Street Brantford.
When? Wednesday evernings, every third week, 8:00- 9:30 PM, including this
Wednesday Feb17, March 10, March 31, April, 21, May 12th.
Cost? $7 at the gate, tell them that you are there for underwater rugby.
Gear? Bring mask, fins, snorkel, a water polo cap if you have one; otherwise we can load you one.
