The Philippine government regulations say a visa is not required for a stay of up to 30 days.
Traveler must be in possession of a passport valid for 6 months beyond stay and a round-trip airline ticket.
A visa may be required if trip purpose is other than basic business meetings.

(1) Each Crew Member is responsible for deciding on how they want to secure airline tickets.
We tried to get a discount code but could not reach anything that made sense since adding a connecting flight would cost more than
Crew Members could get a round trip ticket from their departure city.

(2)Crew members should use the following information when searching for airfare
You need to leave at least 2 days in advance of the June 18th start of the Invasion date due to crossing the international date line and the flight and departure time.
Explained: Crossing the date line you lose a day automatically. Just as you gain the day when you return.
A non-stop from LA is a 14Hr & 20 mins flight time.

24 hr dateline
15 hr flight
3.5 transfer time from Airport or hotel (explained in detail later in post)
________
42.5 hours of travel not counting idle time or any delays.

(3) Inter Island Airfare details ( included in our package ) CEBU PACIFIC Airlines
Please note Flight times from Dumagete could possibly change since we cannot control the airlines but Atlantis is confident you can use the following imformation to search for airfare.

On Saturday June 25, 2016 all will depart Atlantis Puerto Galera around 8:00 am for the return trip to the Manila airport for a flight on Cebu Pacific Airlines at 3:00 pm arriving Dumaguete at 4:15 pm
( this is not important when searching for airfare but is how we will transfer between resorts)

On Friday July 1, 2016 We will depart Atlantis Dumaguete around 7:00 am for their 8:55 am departure to arrive in Manila at 10:10 am. On Cebu Pacific Airlines ( base your return flight on this information)

Do not plan on departing Manila back home prior to 2:10 pm. You must of course retrieve your bags, get from the domestic terminal to the international terminal which can take up to an hour depending on traffic, then check in and go through several security checks and immigration. Depending on your airline you may need a hotel for an overnight which Atlantis can again arrange
.

Most flights back to the United States depart Manila either very early or late in the evening making for a long day in Manila plan accordingly.

(4) Inter island airlines baggage Information

CEBU PACIFIC
Hand Carry Baggage with Domestic Airlines
Domestic carries strictly enforce a maximum of 7Kg/15lbs for hand carried luggage. You may carry an additional laptop bag.

Confirmation of additional weight requirements must be given at least 60 days prior to arrival.
Additional luggage for Cebu Pacific may be charged to personal bills at either resort

EVERYONE should base their luggage needs and cost based on ALL of the flights you will be taking not just your international flight.

(5) Ground Transfers to Puerto Galera
No matter when you arrive in Manila, on Saturday June 18, 2016 as you will go by van (2 ½ - 3 hours) and boat (1 hour) from Manila to Puerto Galera in groups of 10 or more. There will be one stop at a service center that has a restroom (bring your own toilet paper), a Starbucks and a McDonalds that accepts PHP pesos only (no credit cards or USD). You may want to exchange for a few pesos at the airport or the Midas, maybe $15 per person for this stop going and coming. There is also a convenience store there that will exchange at a poor rate. Any unused pesos may be used when you pay your international departure tax leaving Manila.

If we travel in less than the minimum of group size (10) there is a surcharge.
Ground transfer will take place from
ONLY the following 2 places.
Manila International Airport …. Please note there are 3 separate terminals you could arrive or depart from, which are MILES apart and have no connections you would need a cab

Maps on how to get thru the Manila airport to meet your ground transfer will be posted later.
Midas Hotel …. Midas Hotel and Casino | Pasay City, Philippines Midas Hotel on Roxas Blvd about 20‐25minutes from Manila airport (depending on Manila traffic and airport terminal).

Even if you were to arrive on the Philippine Air flight in Manila at 6:00 am on the 18th you would probably not be at the resort until at least noon. While check in is 2:00 pm, Atlantis will make every effort to have your room ready at Puerto Galera upon arrival.

(5) Maduro Travel help with Airfare & Hotel Reservations

Maduro can help you with airfare from your city. There is a charge of $25 per person ticketing fee if airline tickets are purchased. If you want Maduro help with airfare Call 1-800-327-6709 and speak to either Roxanne at Ext. 226 or Lori at Ext 216.

Anyone making their own airlines booking must still call either Roxanne or Lori to provide their flight arrangement details.

Maduro will work with Atlantis to book people at the Midas hotel $140 per night with free wifi paid at the hotel. Breakfast is not included. Atlantis is holding 30 rooms at the Midas on the nights of: Friday night June 17, 2016 & Friday July 1, 2016. We must confirm them with names at least 95 days prior to arrival.

Atlantis does not provide "ala carte" transfers, for example, hotel only without transfers or transfers without hotel.
Transfers to the hotel include service of waiting outside the airport with each arriving guests name on a sign and providing the transfer to hotel. They will then stay with you until you are checked in at the
Midas hotel.
Transfer from the airport to the hotel cost $20 per person double or $36 single private transfer from the airport)

If Members overnight & stay at any other hotel they will have to return to the airport for the transfer to the Puerto Galera Resort.

(6) OVERNIGHTING

We highly advise all member traveling long distances to arrive a day early and Overnight at the Midas hotel. This should help with jet lag (remember you will have be been traveling a minimum of 17 hrs
with a 3.5 hrs ground transfer to go)
. Most members if you are like Roxanne and I will need to add another 3-4 hr flight plus airport waiting time to that. Choosing to overnight on your return home would of course depend on your flight time. I know many of you are traveling from Florida just like Roxanne and I and may be wondering what we are doing. Since we just got confirmation of the above
information, I will start working on it ASAP and gladly share in a group email what I come up with.

(7) LOOKING FOR AIRFARE
Please note that airline pricing fluctuates and that June and July are peak travel periods for the airlines. As such, there will be huge price swings for airline tickets.
PATIENCE is key when looking for airfare if you choose to do it on your own.
If you find a great rate please post it in this thread so everyone can be aware.

(8) PLEASE
Post all travel related questions in this thread ( Atlantis & Maduro ) will also be watching this thread and help me on answering questions.

This also allows all members to see the all travel information posted. I know this is a much more complicated travel schedule than most are used to making, but
everyone is committed to helping out.
DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED we know it can be complex.

(9) Atlantis needs your airline information
Your full name exactly as shown on your passport and your request for Midas Hotel reservations as soon as you have your flights confirmed but no less than 95 days prior to the trip for the hotel and no less than 65 days for your domestic flight to Dumaguete Please give this information to Maduro who will forward it to Atlantis.

Call 1-800-327-6709 and speak to either Roxanne at Ext. 226 or Lori at Ext 216.

(10) WE STRONGLEY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE.
You just never know what could happen, Maduro can also help with this also.
PLEASE REMEMBER missing or a delayed flight could be a major issue since many airlines only have 1 or 2 flights per day to Manilla and booking another flight could become very
very complicated.

( we tried wiz but could not get anything that worked well enough when you added in connecting flights)

fl invaders, can we get a group chat? I get lonely in long flights. And by long i mean anything over 45 minutes

(that should not be an issue since florida has 19 crew members going & most will most likely share the same flights)

What's considered a good fare for this trip?
Philippine Airlines is about $1555 from LA to Manila round trip

I went in January of 2013 it was around $850 roundtrip from LAX - I bought my msp to lax separately as it was much cheaper than buying a roundtrip msp to manila.

I set-up ticket alerts that run everyday that lets me know price and if it goes up/down

Thank you very much Dennis! I'm going to re-write what you posted, in order of when we need the information, so I can make sure I've got it straight. I hope you don't mind. Your info is pure gold!!

Today: get a passport if your passport won't be valid until atleast January 2, 2017.
If you are going to be staying more than 30 days (arriving June 17 that would be July 16, or about 2 weeks longer than the Invasion), then you'll need to get a visa.

Airfare to Manila: Everyone has to get their own tickets. It was cheaper than getting a block booked.

When should you leave? If you are flying from the US you should probably leave on Thursday the 16th of June in order to arrive on time by Saturday the 18th. If you are flying from anywhere else, you'll need to figure it out. That is because you will pass the date line, which means you lose a day on the way there. Don't feel bad, you'll gain it back on the way home.

But don't rely on leaving the 16th to get there on time! Look at your arrival time into Manila and make sure it is sometime on the 17th or the 18th, and preferably not too late on the 18th.

Once you book your airfare, call Maduro Travel 1-800-327-6709 and ask for Roxanne (no relation to Roxanne) at extension 226 or Lori at extension 216. They need to know your travel arrangements and your full name. They can book flights for you, and make sure you didn't choose something impossible, but they charge a $25 fee per ticket. It might well be worth it to have an expert review your plans. No matter who you book your flight with, be sure to call Maduro and tell them your full name as written on your passport, and your travel details, by Monday, April 25, 2016!

Check in at the first resort is 2pm on Saturday, June 18th, and it takes 4 hours minimum to get from the airport to the resort of Puerto Galera.

When you arrive in Manila, you could arrive at any of 3 terminals and you will take a cab to the transfer pick up location which will be announced later. You'll get a map closer to the trip date. Then you will wait there until there at atleast 10 people, at which point you'll go to the resort. If for some reason, you travel with less than 10 people, you'll pay extra, so arriving early is better as you can always wait for the magic number 10. Late arrivals will likely pay an extra fee to travel in a smaller group.

If you stay overnight at the Midas hotel, you can also get transferred to the resort directly from the hotel. To read more about the hotel, search for Midas Hotel and Casino in Pasay City, Philippines. It is on Roxas boulevard, 25 minutes from the airport.

To book a room at the Midas hotel, which is $140 per night (per room? Per person?) plus $40 per couple or $36 per person if alone (if you stay at the Midas, you have to use them for transfers. And you cannot use them for transfers and then just sit in the hotel lobby, you have to get a room) call Maduro Travel 1-800-327-6709 and ask for Roxanne (no relation to Roxanne) at extension 226 or Lori at extension 216. They charge a fee of $25 to book airfare but do they charge a fee for booking the hotel? Wifi is included but breakfast is not. They are holding only 30 rooms, and you have to confirm a hotel room for arrival before Sunday, March 13, 2016.

If you arrange for another hotel to stay in, you will have to return to the airport to get picked up for the transfer.

The first 3 hours are by van, then there is a 1 hour boat ride to the first resort, Puerto Galera. There will only be one bathroom stop and you'll have to bring your own toilet paper. The stop also has a Starbucks and McDonalds that only accept the local currency, no credit cards or US dollars! You can exchange your home currency for the local currency at the airport, or if you arrive a day early and stay at the Midas hotel, at the hotel. There is one convenience store that will exchange but at a bad rate. You should plan to exchange $15 worth of US money. The exchange rate now is roughly $1 USD to 46 pesos so you should expect to exchange for 650-750 pesos.

Then it is time to dive!

On Saturday, June 25 we take our next flight to the second resort. We'll leave the resort at 8am and go back to Manila to take local airline Cebu Pacific, which is included in our package so you do not need to book it. The local flight will leave at 3pm and you will get to the second resort before 5pm.

Please note that the baggage info below is only for the Cebu airplane we are taking between resorts. Your flight from your home to Manila might include more, or less, as limits. Make sure to plan for the leg of your trip with the tightest restrictions, including carry on weights.

Cebu allows one carry one bag, plus one smaller laptop bag. Your total carry on weight is limited to 7 kilograms or 15 pounds and you can't pay for the privilege of any extra, unlike the checked bag.

You get one checked bag free with Cebu. It can weigh up to 30kg or 66lbs. You can buy extra weight but there is a limit for each bag which is non negotiable at any price at 35kg or 77lbs. Make sure you split your luggage up accordingly. Upgrade prices are listed below and apply for round trip (to and from the second resort)
40kg/88lbs: $40
55kg/121lbs: $105
60kg/132lbs: $115
70kg/154lbs: $130
80kg/176lbs: $150 (this is enough weight that it has to be 3 bags!)

Note: if you need more than 30kg/66lbs you have to confirm to Maduro Travel 1-800-327-6709 and ask for Roxanne (no relation to Roxanne) at extension 226 or Lori at extension 216 by Monday, April 25, 2016, which is 60 days prior to our June 25 flight. That means you have to get out your gear, put it in your luggage, and weigh it on a good scale, and then don't change anything!

And then we dive!

And sadly, the Invasion ends as Friday, July 1, 2016 we depart at 7am to fly out at 8:55am on Cebu Pacific again (remember, included in the package, but excess baggage is not, see chart above and confirm and all) . We'll arrive in Manila a little after 10 on Cebu Pacific Airlines.

Do not plan on a departure from Manila prior to 2:10pm. This is because you have to get your checked bags, and take them to the international terminal, and re-check them in. The travel between terminals alone can easily take an hour, then there are security checks and immigration.

Most flights back are either very early or very late, so you might want to stay overnight in Manila at Midas hotel.

If you arrange for another hotel to stay in, you will have to arrange for your own transfer to and from the airport.

It is strongly suggest buying travel insurance. Maduro sells it, as do other agencies. If you miss a flight for whatever reason, it can be difficult and expensive to re-book as there are limited flights every day.

Dennis, can you please let us know if I'm crazy about those flights because it looks to me like we could leave on the 17th and get there on the 18th? Also can you let us know if the $140 is per room or per person?

Mike thanks for another way to look at the information.
OK heres you answers

140.00 PER ROOM not per person..... no charge by Maduro to book it Atlantis is already holding rooms

Maduro will help you look for Airfare.... there is a 25.00 per ticket charge

You flight info is correct but.... you will not arrive in Manila until 11:40 PM on the 18th I believe

There Taipei is 12 hrs ahead of us.... it is already 10:23 on sept 22 as I type
if you fly 13:55 hrs you must be arriving in taipei at 3pm

Follow me you leave JFK takeoff 1.55 pm === takeoff is 1.55 am 18th in Taipei fly 14 hrs = 2:55 PM 18th
leave 9:30 PM arrive Manila 11:40 PM you still need to transfer to the resort ... it is now the 19th 3:50 Am

We cannot cheat the dateline no matter which way you fly....

please check the current time and date in Taipei

And know you are not crazy but searching for flights now days can make you crazy

Whoops, flight should be leaving jfk at 1am not pm, so then you arrive one day, 3 hours later so 27 hours later minus 12 hours ahead means 15 hour flight, sounds right.

Times are shown in 24 hour format.

And to leave jfk at 1am on the 17th, would have to fly from PBI to jfk late on the 16th

I went in January of 2013 it was around $850 roundtrip from LAX - I bought my msp to lax separately as it was much cheaper than buying a roundtrip msp to manila.

I set-up ticket alerts that run everyday that lets me know price and if it goes up/down

Please keep in mind that you if buy 2 separate airline tickets, one from your origin city to the domestic departure city for the international flight and the second from the that city to Manila or you go from your domestic origin city to an international city and then from that international city to Manila that these are called point to point tickets. This means that the air carrier's only obligation is for the city pair you purchased. If your first flight is delayed and misconnects (or cancelled) and you miss your second flight to Manila, you would have to buy another ticket from your airline to Manila. So if you decide to buy 2 separate tickets make sure you have built in extra time to connect to your second flight or that same airline has another flight after the one you booked that will still get you in to board your next flight. A ticket purchased from your origin city to Manila even if it is on 2 different airlines is called a thru fare and the obligation is on the airlines to fly you to Manila no matter what occurs. Also, keep in mind the added time to go thru security for your second flight.
