Hello all!

My name is Michael. I'm not currently a diver. A few years ago, I discovered I'm allergic to neoprene. Living in MD, I can't imagine diving without a suit. Anyways, I'm curious as to how others with the same allergy have dealt with this. Thanks.

Welcome!! Any question you have, you can probably find a post about it in the archives, or just ask away and someone will steer you to an answer.

Have you thought of a drysuit? Some are made out of trilaminate, others are rubber. There are non-neoprene options out there.

Welcome to the board. I have never heard of someone who is allergic to neoprene. I feel for your.

While I'm not sure how common this type of allergy is, there are other members here with the same allergy. I found out about this message board after doing a search on Google (allergy + neoprene). One of the results was a thread I believe is still active.

Aren't drysuits relatively expensive, particularly for someone entering the sport of diving? I don't want to make a significant investment until I'm certain that I want to stay with it.
