Introducing a Minnesota Diver

Greetings to all. My Name is John and I have been diving since I was 15 years old although there was a long period where I did not dive ($$$). But now that I have graduated from college I choose to spend the majority of my vacation time underwater in the carribean. I have found these forums very informative in recent gear purchases and hope I can contribute in the future.

I will be taking my recently certified girlfriend on her first dive trip to Utila March 6-13th and hope to share some photos.

Welcome to the board, I just joined myself and was also asking about Utila - great minds think alike!!. Where will you be staying down there? I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of getting there. It looks like a 2-day trip down and back. How are you flying?

We are staying at Laguna Beach Resort. There is a group from the LDS that is staying at Utila Lodge right now. For us, the flight down required an overnight in Chicago, Miami or Houston. The flight back did not require an overnight but we leave Utila at around 7:00 AM and don't get to MPLS til late.

You will have a great time at LBR. Say hello to Daniel, Romina, Luciano and the rest of the crew for me! Don't miss the drop off dive, the reef at the resort is excellent.

I am in the Twin Cities as well. Lauderdale to be precise. I've only dove in Minnesota a few times in the past but I plan on diving some Pits this summer. Where do you do most of your diving here? Thanks for the info on the site.
