Most of us don't have second stages on our argon regs there Blue.
why not. I like a healthy breath of agron real deep... almost as much as i enjoy deep O2..

H2Andy:question:
what is the argon regulator for?
ah.. i see... it's a first stage only? that makes sense.
MechDiver:Doh! What part of "travel gas" didn't you understand? That also becomes your first deco gas.
Sometimes Blue displays his lack of thought processes...well, why beat a dead horse.
IndigoBlue:Definitely DIN all around. And you will need 1 DIN-to-yoke adaptor for your tropical nontech trips.
Whatever reg you buy, it should be the top of the line for that brand. So if you are looking at ScubaPro, you are looking at a Mark 20 1st stage and an S600 2nd stage. You will need at least 3 Mark 20s and at least 3 S600s. Your other three regs may be of lower performance, since one of them will go onto your argon bottle and the others will go onto your shallow-depth rich mix deco mix (MOD 20 or 30 ft depending on your rich mix).
humba:The LDS has a new S650. Is it too new to consider?
IndigoBlue:Like I said before, Mech continues to betray his inexperience by his contortions and misquotes.
If your argon bottle first stage is O2 cleaned, you can switch it underwater to one of your deco bottles if that reg fails. True, you would have to do a lot of switching, including a hose with a second stage on it, and that would entail having a tool with you.
But with a little more experience, Mech might someday think of this as well. For now, I find his post keep getting "better and better" ? Or worse and worse.
MechDiver:I can truthfully say I have never considered having my argon regulator O2 cleaned so I can take it off, remove the second stage from a somehow dead deco regulator, reinstall it on the "argon/deco" reg, put away my seemingly endless array of underwater tools, and continue my now uneventful dive.
Of course, I have considered using the deco reg that I'm not using at the time, or one off my backgas, or one of my buddies. But hell, I wouldn't have any use for my Craftsman waterproof tool set that way!
Oh, one thing that I HAVE learned.
Plunk
Have a Nice Day.
IndigoBlue:Think about a "scuba tool" Mech. It might come in handy. That way you don't need a toolbox.
