I actually don't have any lift bags or the sort. I've never done a clean up of sorts either. What should I bring?

I was informed that if you have a mesh bag - to bring it. Lift bags aren't a necessary item.

Very cool! I'll sign up tomorrow. See you there.

Michelle - Could it be!?! We're actually going to meet?! WOW! :D

Very cool, will try to make this. Not having been on these before, would a beginner experience level be sufficient?

I haven't done it either and the guy at the diveshop assured me that the lack of experience (doing clean-up work) would not be an issue.

Yes, I think we'll final get to meet Sarah!! :D I signed up with the dive shop and arranged for a place to stay that weekend, so I'm definitely doing it. I've never done a cleanup either but it should be fun! See you all soon.

I understand that they already have twelve people signed up. If anyone else is interested in joining this event, please go ahead and sign up. The more divers they get, the more trash they can haul out of the bay.

Every dive I do is sometimes a cleanup. Sometimes I find bottles, fishing pole, or something just recently lost on the bottom of no value. The place I've recovered the most was at Ballbuster. However, if I do see a bottle with an octopus in it, then I'll leave it alone, if a lingcod is using a sandal to cover her eggs, then I'll just leave her alone because I've already got bitten by a lingcod and don't wanna repeat that again. I'll see if I can join the 15th and hopefully I'll see everybody there. :)

If there is anyone still out there still looking for something, Aquasafaris in Santa Cruz is also organizing a clean up in Santa Cruz on 9/15. I can't make it because we won't be in town, but here's the info:

Aqua Safaris Seeks Volunteers . . .
Come get involved and have fun doing it!

First Underwater Clean Up in Santa Cruz
Please join us for the 23rd Annual Coastal Cleanup. On old tradition with a new twist. We're excited to be teaming up with SAVE OUR SHORES to offer the first ever underwater cleanup in Santa Cruz.

It's scheduled for September 15th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Anyone who is SCUBA certified and has experience diving in cold water is welcome to participate. Aqua Safaris will be offering free tank fills to all participants and will be providing free rental equipment on a first come first serve basis (must register). Please come join us as we help clean up the waters we love diving in!

Come get involved . . .
Please send an email to dede@aquasafaris.com with "UW Cleanup Regitration" in the subject line. She will forward you the registration paperwork and waivers.

We are in need of divers, but also have jobs on deck. We hope you can be part of this incredible day! Thanks, DeDe

Allrighty - so who is doing the Lover's Cleanup this weekend with Aquarius? Mark and I will be out there. Anyone else?
