For those of you who dive a wing with an integrated STA--particularly those wings with the stabilizer bars and with grommets (Pioneer, older OMS 32#)--how do you secure the wing to the BP? It would seem that the standard bolt/nut combo would leave the bolt head right on the BP spine. This would seem to be a rather unstable base for a tank--I would think that a tank would want to roll off the bolt head putting undo stress on the stabilizer bars. I know the tank locks down the wing, so technically the wing does not need to be bolted down. But what if one would want to secure the wing so that it doesn't float around prior to mounting and locking down the tank? Also, is the stank stable enough sitting only on the grommets?

Anyone have any experience with this situation?

ive had no problems with my old pioneer. the tank seemed securely in place and did not mis-align no matter how eratic my movements were. others though would have problems with the tank rolling. i guess its a case to case basis
 
I've never noticed any problem with bolt heads coming in contact with the tank. The are pretty flat and the tank is extremely stable.
 
I have an OMS wing. If I use a flat head machine screw to hold the wing on it makes no contact with the tank. The head sits nicely below the rim of the grommet.
On the other hand if you use a Pan head bolt or carriage bolt you will get a tank wobble.
Option two : is to use plastic interior trim panel fasteners from the auto industry.
Option Three: Deep Dea Supply has rubber fasteners that require no tools.
These can be seen just below the cam wedge blocks. I was thinking about getting a set and give them a test drive.
