Just stumbled on this thread while prepping for trip and discovered stuck shade rings. Great advice as always, retaining posts removed. Cheers, Steve

Z330 user here. Do a lot of muck dive, I have the same problem, they're completely stuck. But I don't see any issue aside from resell value - it's not like I need to remove them or touch them to dive.

One day you will want to get it off, to fit inside a snoot or whatever. it is best to remove from time to time to get the salts out. If you soak it for a few days it will come off, then it is only a matter of occasional rinsing, or do the file job.
If you don't like maintenance, find someone who does... and marry them.
