My 2 trip old Inon strobe flooded out in both the battery and bulb compartments. Who can i go to in the usa to get it serviced/replaced? I am on my last 2 days in the Philippines but need a plan for when i get home. Fortunately I got a bunch of great shots preflood. Any experience in dealing with Inon or their designated dealers/serviuce reps would be greatly appreciated.

how the hell did you do that?
did you not have the o-ring on properly?

I have z-240, i've used it on about 40 dives, never checked or cleaned the 0-ring lol.

So your strobe does not work at all?

Inon shut down its US based service provider several years ago. The best you can probably do is send it to an authorized dealer for them to forward to japan. Backscatter is probably your best choice.

Why can't you return it to the place of original purchase?
I'm sure that any reputable retailer would honour a warranty that was only two dives old?
This does open the age old can of worms of where/whom the strobe was purchased?
I'm assuming that the strobe was sourced from 'stateside' and not the 'web'?

both compartments flooded 21 dive of the trip. i googled inon flood and got a hit where linon said long bolts that attach the arm to strobe was cracking cases but i can't tell without magnification.

So that's why Inon stress in the manual to ensure that there is a gap between the end of the bolt and the case to avoid cracking and to make sure that the O-ring on the mounting plate is not removed. I also put a SS washer under the head of each my holding down bolts as without them the end of the bolts got too close to the strobe body for comfort as the O-ring compressed when tightening down.

Hi Nautilus - Can you post a picture of what you did or add some more explanation, I appear to have only one hold down bolt for the Inon arm attachment. Bought a Z-240 and this thread has given me goose bumps.

Sorry can't help with returns as I never expected to have to return mine. Now I want to know more.

Sorry for the confusion, I used the plural because I have two strobes. I simply put a washer under the head of each hold down bolt to increase the gap between the end of the bolt and the strobe case when I
screwed it down.
