No, I have never seen a tank with a rating like that (3015) ...... 2015 yes!

Thal, thanks for the pic, worth a thousand...

See you topside! John

One thing I'd be concerned with would be how it will fare when it comes time to get it hydroed. My understanding is that one of the main reasons the old steel tanks tend to do so well is because they had such low fill pressures.

Also, how many yokes would have been rated for 3000 psi back in the day?

Still, assuming it does pass hydro, having a galvanized 1953 tank rated at 94 cf and 3015 psi is just awesome. That's almost a straight up vintage equivalent of an HP100.

Most or all of the 2015 psi tanks I have seen are 3A spec not 3AA.

The Navy used the standard yoke of the time on their 3000 psi aluminum cylinders. The only yoke I would be leary about using at 3000 psi is the early Broxton address cast yokes, the later ones were forged.

Yeah, but what about a 3015 psi cylinder? (I know, that 3rd grade math is a killer;))
:D

Lest I come off sounding like a jerk, this was alluding to a post in another thread where the Captain joked about failing 3rd grade math. All in good humor.

LACS3408, you seem to have a very unique tank. Treasure it, and when you're done with it, find it a good home. Congrats!

Taken in good humor. If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at.
