I have the mares abyss and want to replace my rebel regulator with an inflator regulator.
I have a Beuchat Masterlift Evo BCD

I looked at the "Aeris Air Link Inflator" and it looked fine for me.
My questions: is it compatible with the mares first stage?
Is it easy to fit on the hose to the BCD/

two people told me it is easy to fit.
Aeris told me they don't know because they don't know the Beuchat BCD (I think something very standard).
One private message me and told me it does not fit.

Anyone experience or recommendation of an other inflator reg?

thanks
Michael

I would contact Beuchat and check with them. enquiries@beuchatdiving.co.uk

I would be surprised if the hose would be incompatible.

From experience I would get a slightly longer corrugated hose than standard, 2 inches is enough, to allow extra freedom to turn your head to the right.

I have used an AIR2 for many years and am happy with mine, the only exception is the non standard hose which makes swapping gear around boring.

Read Spectrum's link. I did, and he makes some excellent points.

That said, there are some alternates available that connect between the BC hose and the BC inlet with an additional QD rather than being integrated with the BC inflator mechanism.

A disadvantage is greater bulk and an additional QD. Advantages include a separate device that can be removed for servicing or easily disconnected and still used in the event of a stuck BC inflator valve.

The Genesis Sidekick got good reviews a few years ago.

FishDiver: that Genesis Sidekick also looks nice.
I see the rist that the BC inflator valve fails and there is a the same the need of an alternative air source is very small. But the idea of making is separete is great.
Just I wounder how it feels this part and than also the inflator close to the mouth/face?
On the other hand it is just for the ascent.
But I read about many people who are telling they are very happy with there combination inflator second stage.
