Inflator button stuck

Got a answer from Apeks..
"We only recommend the unit is rinsed after every dive, because the units are not problematic if a problem occurs it is more cost effective to purchase a new lower unit". Basically use the inflator until it stops working and buy a new one because they are not servicable. One of the pulldump cords broke off also and instead of changing the cord you haveto the buy the whole thing again.

Not buying an Apeks wing the next time around..

sounds like BS to me. But agree re just replacing the unit but I'd use a generic one and not a likely very expensive Apeks one. Which dump cord broke? On every wing I've owned and know of the dump pull cord, lower rear, can be replaced by user.

Very good advice thus far. How did I know the Mfg. would suggest buying another one. When you said "pull dump," are you refering to the intergrated elbow with built in dump valve from the LPI to the wing? I also have yet to have any BC that had dump valves that could not be replaced.

No the round thing at the bottom of the wing if the cord comes of you have to buy a new plate, spring, cord and cap assembly

usually you can unscrew the top cap which gives you access to the spring and the cord, No?

The cord goes thru the bottom plastic plate and is glued under the rubber so you cant change it

Peel the rubber off with a knife, add a string and then super glue the rubber back down... That is what I would do....

I am also with Tigerman and Buddhasummer that you are "probably" using wrong size O-rings on the power inflator.

if "use and replace" is their philosophy, I'd be seeing if any of the generic products fit (Ie: DSS, DR, Trident, etc.) will attach as a retro-fit (should easily for the LPI unless it's some wacky shaped/sized corrugated hose), and junk their non-servicable stuff....
