Inexperienced Diver BC Question

It is also technically true that if you dive a B/W or back inflate BC you are going to die.

I all three cases you are far more likely to die peacefully in bed than as a result of diving though :)
 
Try as many different setups as you possibly can and decide for yourself which is best for you, not anyone else. Lots of good info here to digest but some is quite opinionated as you can tell.

BP/W will give you a more flexible rig to alter should your diving needs change in the future, as well as a much simpler (dependable) design which is easier to fix should the need arise. I found it also holds the tank more securely throughout the dive and felt more streamlined in the water.

All good points but BC's work too, and if they offer what you need, there is no shame in using them. I did for years and am still alive, thankfully.
