I am part of the Wreck Valley dive clube because I head out to Dutch Springs quite often, however I live in Pittsburgh and my LDS goes to Gilboa and i'm only about 2 1/2 hours from Erie. I was wondering if anyone on here joined both clubs and dive with both of them? I was interested in being in both as I sort of sit smack dab in the middle. I have been dying to get up to Erie and do some diving there.

Sure you can Daryl.

I know divers from the Ontario Fresh Water Freaks have met up with GLWC divers. Shoot - I spend almost as much time diving in Canada as I do the States given Detroit/ Windsor and Port Huron / Sarnia are each separated by a bridge. & I'm sure there are people that will swing from the GLWC and the Mid-west Muck Divers. There's even a dual event being planned right now.

I might even join you in your neck of the wood some day - my parents and grandparents live in Clarion.

Small world,

I was at Dutch this spring and mainly dive Gilboa for practice. One of my main dive buddies is from upstate NY (hence the twelve hour drive out to Dutch that will be an annual deal for me) and I wind up diving Canada quite a bit as well as the dive sites up there are closer for her than Wreck Valley's (Although, I am sure that I could be convinced to dive some of those wrecks off NJ and NY if I could find the time). So, many of us get around a little.

Welcome to the club and let us know when you head out this way. I, for one, am always up for a dive.

PS, at our first ever meet and greet we had two divers come in from out of state and one other from Canada. WVMike and Garfish came in from West Virginia and Pennsylvania respectively (hope my recall was correct on that, guys) and we had a guy come in from Ontario who favored pink gear (he knows who he is). So, if you happen to be in the area, feel free to swing by Portage on the weekend of Sept. 24-26 and introduce yourself. This includes any Muck Divers, Fresh Water Freaks, Piranhas, Wreck Valley members, Bottom Dwellers, Conch Divers, or others that I may not have mentioned that may be in the area.

I'm in the GLWC (and proud of it!), but have also joined the Mid-West Muck Divers since I live on the border between the two.

I was diving Gilboa about 2 weeks ago...Canadians cross over all the time as it seem the US divers do too :) feel free to come play with us too!
