I've been diving with a Poseiden Odin for quite some time and decided to look for a more compact new reg. I originally bought the Posieden because it was easy breathing at any angle and gave you a ton of air when exherted... I'm up for suggestions on the new models out there. I've been checking out Mares and Atomic. Also trying to keep the price somewhat reasonable..

Thanks

.....well, I've got a number of Poseidon Jetstreams.....as well as assorted Mares.....Atomics...and Apex. My favorite regs as of the last few years are my Atomics (M1 and T2) and my 2 Apex XTX 200's. I don't know your price range...also, if you are willing to considered a 'used' reg, you can likely afford a nice one that otherwise might be above your price range....also, with the economy being 'down', you can likely strike a good deal on a new one too.....Scubatoys is pretty competitive on pricing, plus they have good deals on their 'demo'/'returned regs and offer their own warranty on their 'demo'/returned regs.

I used Poseidon for years, but as they age they tend to free flow and require quite a bit of attention to keep them in-tune. Parts are expensive, so I changed a few years ago to Apeks. The AX/TX 100/200 models really perform well and they work well at all depths and attitudes. I've tried the Atomic before I decided on the Apeks and was satisfied with it. The final factor was that Apeks was purchased by Aqualung, so I didn't think that worldwide accessibility to parts would be a problem in the future. Regardless of your choice, good luck with your purchase. :-)

AL Titan LX, lots of air, don't cost much. N

Mares Abyss is a nice reg. make sure you have a Mares dealer local though. Otherwise, service can be a pain.

zeagle any one of them. they breath at 20 ft like they do at 130 ft.

There are a number of good options, several mentioned above.

Quality and performance, at a very good price, can be found @
edge gear diving scuba snorkeling manufacturer

We offer very high performance regs: Apollo Sports: Dive Gear

The posts regarding Apex, and Aqua-Lung are also very good.

Keep doing your homework.

A quality high performance reg does not need to have a high price tag.
