After nearly 8 months off-island due to some family awfulness, I'll finally be back in a couple of days. My daughter's birthday is soon, and I can't be here at that time.
I'm not sure I'll be diving because my knees seem to have aged disproportionately relative to the rest of me and it's not looking good for getting off and on boats.
I am looking forward to so many of the other things I enjoy while there, such as getting new plates for the vehicles, dealing with the fact that Telmex still hasn't ported my number after over a year so I can finally get rid of Cablemas, doing the usual multiple trips looking for parts for things that need repair, and listening to my favorite early morning lullaby.
Perhaps most of all, though, I look forward to saying I'm going to have cvchief and Susanita over and share daiquiris with them on the terrace. We've built an enduring tradition of that (saying we're going to do it) and then running into schedule conflicts or various other impediments. Now we have most of a nice Napoleon grill there, with the rest arriving this trip, so henceforth I'll be able to add not providing food to not giving them rum and lime drinks.
