It was on my doorstep when I came home from lunch. I was worried about the Bares Alpine hooded 7mm wetsuit as the sizing is REALLY off and I was told to order a 16!!!! (I normally wear a 10 so this is a HUGE difference!)...I put it on immediately!

It's that far off on the sizing? I was thinking about a Bare because they have an 8T and I just bought an 8T Xcel and it fits me better than any other wetsuit. My LDS only had 1 of that size and it is a 3 mm. What brand wetsuit do you normally wear a 10 in?

I wear a 9/10 in a 7mm BodyGlove wetsuit (rental) and I have a 7/8 .5mm BodyGlove (yes, I mean 1/2 mm!) isotherm wetsuit to wear under my 7mm when needed.

To give you an idea...
I'm 5'9", weigh 160(+/-). When I went on the website and looked at their size chart, my measurements went right down the size 16 column! *GASP!!!!* I talked to Joe at Scubatoys and he told me their sizing was different...they are located in Canada, so maybe that's why?!

Women's wetsuit sizing is crazy. I don't thnk Bare would fit me. The 10T looks too short in Bare for me. You would probably wear a Henderson 12, or an Xcel 12. I am 5"10 and weigh 129 and the Xcel is the only wetsuit which has fit me so well. Guess I'll shell out the $350 for the 5 mm when it gets colder. :(

Here's the Xcel size chart:

I looked at the Xcel chart...my measurements were all over the map! A 10 on one measurement, an 8T on the other....crazy....you could always call ScubaToys and see what they recommend in relation to the Bare wetsuit....they may tell you to stick with the Xcel...it's worth a phone call...

 Bare has all these plus sizes where a 12+ is larger than a 16! I'm closer to a 10T in Bare. Thanks for your comments on the sizes. I'm always interested in tall women and wetsuit sizes. It's not easy!

Well, if you look at Xcels chart, it's similar in that an 8T and a 10 both cater to people who are 5'6" to 5'9"..... huh? The size ranges are weird at best...

Good luck to finding the right suit for you!
