I'm ordering my first set of gear!!!

Sorry to stray ON topic, but my wife dives a Zeagle Zena and loves it. I would look pretty funny in one...:shakehead But the Zeagle Brigade I use is great. We both use the Aeris Atmos Pro reg. have really liked it as well. As a novice underwater photographer, I spend a bit of time inverted trying to get close-up pics and so far have not sucked any seawater.

Can't speak for the other stuff on the list, but the Zena & Aeris are great choices. I also have had great service from Larry @ Scubatoys...

I would check around town, find items you like that fit you, and then buy them from online (reputable) stores who will work with your budget. Sounds like the wrong way to treat your LDS but you aren't trying to help them keep up and running....you are trying to get the best bang for your buck.

(Trust me, I just got through buying all my own gear 2 weeks ago)

Doc...thanks for the feedback! I'm looking forward to trying out my new gear! Once I get it, I plan to contact my friend/instructor and get into the pool with her so I can get accustomed to the new set-up and my buoyancy checked.

I got my gear today!!!!!!!!!!

It was on my doorstep when I came home from lunch. I was worried about the Bares Alpine hooded 7mm wetsuit as the sizing is REALLY off and I was told to order a 16!!!! (I normally wear a 10 so this is a HUGE difference!)...I put it on immediately! This suit is great! It's fits really well and the zipper is a front zipper that zips the hood onto your head at the chin, so when you get out of the water, even unzipping the suit a bit relaxes the hood from around your neck....nice feature!!! Plus the ankle zippers make getting this suit on easier!!

As for the rest of my stuff...if came assembled, packaged well, and I can't wait to get it wet!!!!!

Thanks! I just got done reviewing the instruction booklet for the Oceanic Pro + 2 computer....can I tell you how overwhelmed I feel? This thing does everything but clean the kitchen sink!!! LOL

If you press & hold both buttons for 7 seconds, then push button #2 17 times, place the computer in the sink & toss in some soap -- it WILL acutally clean the kitchen sink...
