I didn't know they had a pool. I've never been to the place , but it sure sounds good. I met Robin and a few others on a dive weekend I spent at Brockville this summer at Riverside Resort. Great place and really good people! I'm going to have to check out that place the next time I'm in town (maybe a few weeks).

To bad about moving to Ottawa, I hear the dive shops out there are into throating cutting each other, but do provide good service in between as a bonus.

I would have to disagree. Many of the Ottawa Dive shops have come together to raise money for various causes. Granted, there are too many shops in the area, but they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

Chinatown area puts you pretty close to Sharky's and Dolphinos...

BTW: there are more restaurants per capita in Ottawa than any other city in Canada... good oriental foods , for sure.

Technically not Ottawa but Plongee H2O in Gatineau has a pool. It's about 25 min North of Center Town.

You will love Ottawa, A very clean city with great night life and plenty to do all year round. When you are there in the winter try a "Beaver Tail" down on the Rideau Canal

Well I'm late in saying welcome to the neighbourhood (errr when you get here)

You'll soon discover for a population this size, we have a lot of dive stores -- we all have our recommendations. Most shops are PADI, but we do have a NAUI, and ACUC and of course we have TDI instructors here too.

The good thing about coming here you won't be dry for long. So all your friends on the rock will soon be envious with the amount of diving you'll be getting in. With the St Lawrence only an hour away, and Lake Ontario just over 2 hours, we have diving pretty much all year round.

if you want jet fins the only shop in town that sells them (AFAIK) is Burtons dive over in Vanier (beechwood/vanier parkway area)

Diving is a non-issue, 45-60mins to the best freshwater diving in the world
about 80minutes to the best dive shop in the world too
