So sorry that we couldn't offer you better weather for your trip.
We owe you a return visit when conditons are "normal"

Well, i just remembered I have a girlfriend somewhere down here. I'm either going to take a drive down the pch, or find a casino or find her :) a rolling stone gathers no moss!

It is 11:35 I just turned on the computer and noted your plight. Perhaps the following can turn your day into something meaningful..Many of the places are within walking distance of Divers Cove.

I sinceredly hope this information will some how salvage what remains of the day- week end.
Hopefully you will not judge the organizers of this event to harshly.
Please return to Orange county another day for some world class diving,
After all Orange county was were it all began...

Thanks for that, it's almost dark now so I don't think I'll be going back out except to eat and try to find a sports bar to watch the sharks game. I had a lovely afternoon driving down the coast and thru the hills. Better luck next time!

If the weather was as bad over there on "the Big Island" as it was here on Catalina, I guess SoCal didn't give you a very hearty welcome. The last thing on my mind the last two days was diving (although I did spent them editing new footage for my presentation at OCUPS Tues night).

I did take the opportunity to go to heisler park today, surf wasn't bad but water did look like it would be murky from what I could or couldn't see while looking thru the waves. Tomorrow may be better, wish I had scheduled myself one more opportunity to try. Found the rocky mountain chocolate company though so bought a carmel apple, took it back to my room and had a sweet snack before dinner.
I'll be back later in the year, I'm sure. There's still stuff off our coast I want to see and explore.

SO sorry this happened! And you were so brave to have booked this trip. We have fabulous weather probably 90% of the time...naturally, we had to have this yucky storm on the one day you're down here to dive. Bummer.

Kristina I really do hope you'll come back for when we reschedule this thing!

This is a pretty intense weather system. The drive back from Arizona was crazy...there were times the rain was coming down so hard I had to actually pull over. Definitely not diving weather. :(

pacificgal, sorry to hear about this. I didn't go out diving either, the Peace boat was canceled :( Weather is always unpredictable Jan-Mar around here.

Just to make you feel a little worse, I'm sitting in Palo Alto (can't dive because I'm judging a debate tournament at the "Jr. University" here) and the weather is great. Blue skies, puffy white clouds and a gentle breeze.
