I've started labeling everything, down to mask and fins. If it helps things return to me, it's great. I'm not expecting loss due to theft, just me misplacing things. I don't have my neoprene labeled yet, still trying to find a good way to do it. I find it a pain to go replace things.

Do the stay on well hold up with repeated exposure to water? Any particular series?

I order pre-printed sheets via my LDS - so not sure about the specifics of the material. It works well though - no issues with the labels detaching, even after prolonged use.

Back of the label paper just says "3M Reflective Sheeting".

Get about 100 stickers per sheet, in varied sizes/shapes, reflective, printed with name and dive flag, waterproof.

I used Marci's label maker for the pelican case.

I had problems getting anything to stay on my Predator so I used a stainless steel dog tag with name and phone number.

Depending on the gear I will use either return address mailing labels or one of my business cards, and seal them in place with clear plastic packing tape. That seems to work quite OK, although with the mailing labels there's no phone number.

Now you guys got me thinking to make up something that also includes an e-mail address ...

Another label idea:

Use white electrical tape and write on it with a sharpie. This what I do for a checklist on my Predator and is works great.

If your expensive gear ends up with white electrical tape with my name on it, I was framed!

and just for you don - please make sure you mark your truck. that way, anyone who ends up with it inadvertently will know how to get it back home!

my family calls those 'drugstore trucks'. i think there was a local pharmacist who found an el camino the perfect compromise between having to do deliveries and having to escort the wife to fancy places like church.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of leaving my keys in the ignition all the time?

Just bought a labelmaker with nifty white text on black background tape (TZ-315 or TZe-315...only difference is the packaging). Thanks BabyDuck for giving me the nudge to do this :)
