today i was able to dive 3 new shipwrecks.. at least new to me =)
the Island Divers Hawaii Club Dive was supposed to only be a double barge dive..
but with matt's drifting skills.. we actually dove three barges!
(kahala barge, new barge, and baby barge)

here's rockjock3 and mrjimbo, etal.. on the way to the kahala barge off kokos..

this is matt's "zeal-team1" (16 divers strong) preparing to do a team precision rapid drift entry.. (matt said we couldn't call it a "seal-team" entry because the navy had a copyright on that term :eyebrow: )

new barge.. this was my favorite..
they cut holes in all the bulkheads so you could swim all the way thru stem to stern =)

arriving at baby barge.. another older wreck.. lots of mature coral growth..

We didn't hear any whales (thought I did once, but that could have been narcosis :D )

Viz was about 70-80+ range. Pretty nice day all around.

wow! Didn't know there were 3 barges over there. Cool! Looks like you had a great time. How long a dive was it?

There is also one more barge and an LCU in the same area. Haven't dove those yet.

i went inside/under all three..
kahala barge was 90fsw
new barge also 90fsw
and baby barge 60fsw.

Was that Sunday? The weather couldn't have been better. I saw it through the windows at work. That looks like a blast!

wonder why they aren't frequented as much???...
well, the kahala barge doesn't have a mooring..
plus.. some of the deck plates were flapping in the current..

on the baby barge.. at least one corner of the hull was wide open with the plates on the sea floor.. seemed very old..

maybe they don't go to 'em as much just because the current can be strong and you have to drift 'em mostly..
