All,

Need help identifying believed early model Mako. Only markings are Mako and KB 3600 on block. It is a three stage with 5hp gas motor. Any idea of CFM, idosyncrasies, recommended oil, etc. Not currently running.

Strongly considering purchase.

Thanks

Need pictures. Does the unit have a round plastic or metal fan cover? Is the fan driven by a seperate belt than the drive belt? Most "old Makos" used Bauer compressor blocks.

Will try to get a picture and post this weekend. It is metal fan with circulur tubing for cooling. On front is obviously some sort of oil pump and it is distinct as it has a "snorkel" looking apparatus used for filling compressor oil (?) on front at right. Unit is coupled directly to a 3-5 hp gas motor/no belt drive. Fits in a frame with filters. Sound familiar?????model???year????CFM?????

Thanks

Direct drive and it is a Mako. Right now a mystery, but with the fan you describe, the oil pump and "snorkel", sounds like the block may be a K14-85. Are all the cooling tubes in the back?

Maybe the block looks like this?

Finally uploading two pictures. What do you think besides looking rough?
