I bought a kit with some old stuff that hadn't been used for decades.
Everything has been restored except the second stage.
The diaphragm of it crumbled immediately when tested. Since everything else is working so well I thought I'd try to find a replacement diaphragm. Obviously there are no original spare parts to be found since Sportsways have been out of business since the late 70's(?).
I'd like to know the model name of the second stage and if there are any other diaphragms (silicone preferably) that would fit, and where to buy these.
If it helps, the first stage looks like a Sportsways Waterlung 200.

Judging from the looks and checking the last SW catalog I have (73) it does look like a mid to late 70s model. That particular design was not in the catalog I have but some of the other ones were very similar. Odds are they kept the same diaphgram diameter as the older regs and if so, I have not been able to find a suitable replacement, they are just slightly larger than other brands.

Gee, I thought we could just smear silicone grease on it and you are good to go.

Thanks Simonbeans, I deserved that.

I think all the Sportsways regulators have a similar diameter diaphragm, but the older ones are very poor compared to the new ones. I think someone here may have bought extra diaphragms off E-Bay in the last year or two. Maybe he or she will make it known, and offer one.

I've got a Waterlung W-600 and for some reason, it seems to work well with the diaphragms I use for my conshelf regs... Need to take it apart and get some measurements now to verify.

Doc, the SW diaphgram is 80mm or there abouts, the USD is around 75. It might work but you would be barely holding on the edges of the diaphgram. Not a good idea.
