Temps were between 70-73 at the surface. Below 50ft it dipped to 56. A 7 mil was more than enough exposure suit.

Ken, Let me know when you want to go it would be a fun road trip. We were talking about trying to make another trip before the temps go down. When we are all dry suited up, it would be soooooo cool to surface looking at snow filled mountains!

Robert, I think that is the same crayfish! Man, they are all over the place.

Ann Marie, So a chai tea latte served by snakedr and I didn't make up for the absence of a cabana boy?? :07: Do you have a gallery you can post your pics? They are really awesome!

I echo Ann Marie's statement. Rod Sloan at Sierra Dive is a great instructor. The shop is in Reno. They will bring tanks for you for the course. If you want to do any other diving, I strongly suggest you bring as many tanks as you want to dive. Its a bit of a drive to Reno for a fill.

If any of you road trippers need Tahoe info, drop me a line. I am in Carson City, closer to the lake than Reno, and you can get tanks here too. The temps won't significantly drop off for another 6 weeks so you have time!


BTW Nice pics Ann Marie! the spotty fish was probably a trout, though there are some species of macinaw and salmon in the lake as well. The smaller fish are a species of minnow.

If any of you are interested in mtn biking, the world famous Flume Trail cuts across the face of the mountain behind Sand Harbor (in the picture with your smiling faces ) it's hard to see, but look for a straight line about 3/4 the way to the top and that's it.
