Ice Diving This Weekend at White Star Quarry

There will be diving at White Star Quarry this weekend, February 7-8. There is ICE on the Quarry... almost 8 inches... we have two holes cut probably three.. and the visibility is over 100 feet. You need to be an ice diver to dive this weekend so check with your local dive center about the class if you need it... We need to check cards at the scuba concession... you need to be ice diver certified to dive and sign a release if you want to walk on the ice.

We will have heated changing rooms and free food and warm drinks. We will be open for diving from 10 - 3. If you want to know more call before you come 419 637 3483

Diving today was fantastic. The weather was warmer than expected... water super clear. We had a bunch of divers in the water. We have four holes cut and are ready for Sunday! Hope you can make it!

Just a note for those thinking about starting ice diving. This is one of the best times to dive. Would have went down to Whitestar but was ice diving locally (Otter Lake). Summer viz on this lake is normally less than 10 feet. This last weekend, ice diving viz was at least 100 feet! We even have people ice diving in wetsuits! (However, you won't catch me without a drysuit).
