Well I am taking the IANTD normoxic class here in PR and while on Ome Leave in Jan 2014 I want to do the IANTD Wreck Diver course. I have contacted a shop there and all I ot was a standard cut and paste telling me about their dive packages and nothing about what I asked for. I responded and they said my email confused them and blamed me for their error. Well that starte do burn my but. They finally said they would get back to me ..... Guess what nothing after over a week. Never knew how hard it was to give away money.

I need some help finding a good IANTD wreck instructor in the Largo area. I am trying to schedule my vacation time line with our HQ and really need to fix some dates for plane fare.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank....

There are very few IANTD instructors in Key Largo and no IANTD shops, except Hyperbarics Int'l which only teaches Dive Medicine. Dick Rutkowski is in his 90s and doesn't dive anymore.
The majority of IANTD instructors are up in NE Florida closer to cave country and a few in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area).
There is the link for finding FL IANTD Instructors and what each is certified to teach. The list is long but not all of them can teach wreck. IANTD - International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers
I know several who also happen to be SB members. Don't hesitate to send them a PM: Rob Neto aka Dive-aholic, Capt Jim Wyatt, Jill Heinerth, Doug Ebersole (debersole)
I've met or dove with several others; feel free to send me a PM if you'd like some other recommendations.

Thanks... There is one shop claiming to be an IANTD shop. Wish they were more responsive.... I searched the IANTD instructor listings but without recomendations you never know what you are getting.

    No problem Elena.

I'm not sure what the status of Silent World is now. I know when I worked for them, they had a few IANTD technical instructors. The old owner moved back to England (yay! Haha). But, I don't know if the new leaders still have technical staff on board or not. I know they've been eager to keep clients coming. They've answered each of my questions promptly in the past few months about charters.

At any rate... I'm guessing the ocean is going to be crap in January. If the Ocean if good, I'm sure we can find you someone to help in Key Largo. If the Ocean is crap, I'd say come to N. Florida and take cave training, then use that training for wreck diving, assuming your trimix class was thorough in regard to hot drops, drifting deco, shooting lift bags, etc.

Let us know, we'll get you pointed in the proper direction.

    Thanks Elena!

Yes, I can offer the IANTD Overhead course and am willing to travel to Key Largo. I'm pretty sure I have a place I can stay there. The only issue would be dates. I already have over half of January booked.
