I casually mentioned to my family that it might be cool to track a dive float with an I tag.
I got one for Christmas! I am going to put it into a small waterproof container and clip it to the dive float.
In the past I have had infrequent instances when I have lost track of the surface float the a diver is towing on a drift dive. I know it won’t work if/when the float gets pulled under, but I am hopeful it will work most of the time.
Anyone else doing something similar? Seems like a viable means to add another layer of security, assuming it works.
I know it will only work close to shore where we have cell service, but we often stay pretty close to shore.
